My first camera was a camcorder. Thirteen years old, growing up in the Hudson Valley. I don't remember what I filmed first. I remember what it felt like. Someone was in charge of what got seen, and for the first time, it was me.

At CUNY City College I directed my first documentary, Si Se Puede. Farmworkers and domestic workers organizing to unionize. Sitting with the groups, interviewing them, I saw how much fight is in people. How much resilience it takes to keep building a better tomorrow. That's when I understood what a camera is for.

I stayed in New York for nine years. Long enough to learn how to hustle. Not long enough to learn how to rest. Atlanta gave me that. A pace. A business built to serve my life instead of eat it.

For five years I sourced cinematic footage for national campaigns with STALKR. It's the half of the job most filmmakers never learn. Making the film is one thing. Knowing who it's for is another. And clearances. What you can use, what you can't, what it takes to get footage cleared for the campaign.

I started Izzy & Co. in 2026 for the crew I want to keep working with for the next twenty years. Every gaffer I love, every sound mixer I trust — they all work as freelancers, rising and falling alone. I wanted a place where a rising tide lifts something real. That's the "& Co."

I'm drawn to grit. To people who got knocked down and got up anyway. That's the story I'm here for.
